Your favourite Pokemon Movie from the newer generations?

Postby The_Titan_Atlas » Mon May 09, 2016 6:32 pm

So obviously we're all like "OMG the First Movie is so good, classic Pokemon!" but what about the more recent ones? Some of them have maybe been a bit hit-and-miss but there are also some real gems in there, I think. Of course, the word "recent" isn't too specific, so since there have been 6 Generations, I'm going to split down the middle, and label Generations 4 to 6 as the "newer", "more recent" Generations.
So my question to you is, as of Generation 4, what is your favourite movie? Vote and discuss!

For me, I'm giving a vote to the Victini movie. I absolutely loved the setting, the costumes of the characters and I felt like we got to know the characters quite well. It made me feel really sorry for Victini, having been trapped for so many years, and the movie had a fine "emotional moment" when Ash is on the verge of passing out in space, and Golurk is desperately trying to break through to rescue him. (On a side note, I loved how Golurk was able to fly by turning into a jet pack.) Also Reshiram is one of my favourite legendaries, so that was a big plus. The movie progressed well and overall I thoroughly enjoyed watching it (and have re-watched it several times).

An honourable mention for a close 2nd place goes to the Rise of Darkrai, with some epic fight scenes between Dialga and Palkia being a particular highlight, as well as the characterisation of Darkrai, being seen as an evil figure for the majority of the movie. Again, the setting was good, and it was an incredibly enjoyable film.

I'd like to hear your thoughts too! :D Any that stood out for you? Any you particularly disliked? Discuss here!
